Activity Detail
MAIN’s Alternative Education Provision offers tailored support for children and young people aged 5 through to secondary age who are not currently accessing mainstream education or are experiencing challenges within a traditional school setting. This provision is specifically designed to meet the needs of neurodivergent learners, including those with autism and learning disabilities.
Please note: referrals should be sent to the Local Authority, this contract is for children, young people who currently are in school placements in Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough and Darlington.
The environment at MAIN is flexible, individualised, and supportive—fostering learning through a person-centred approach. Facilities include sensory rooms, a soft play area, and outdoor play spaces to support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
Our team works in close partnership with schools, parents, and carers to ensure that each learner’s educational journey aligns with their developmental stage and the national curriculum, while also addressing social, emotional, and sensory needs.
The goal is to re-engage learners in education in a way that respects their unique profiles and promotes both academic and personal growth.
