I have been part of MAIN for many years. In fact, I remember the bungalow on the grounds of The Beverley School in Middlesbrough where parents and carers met for a coffee with a chance to support each other; back then it was named, The MAIN Project. My two boys were about 7 and 8 years, at the time

I have two children who are on the autistic spectrum – now adults. They both accessed services that MAIN delivered, including Come Dine with MAIN and after school and holiday clubs.

I have been a member of the Board of Trustees for many years. I did take a break in 2018 and came back to the Board in late 2021.  I am the designated Safeguarding Trustee. MAIN has a robust safeguarding policy which everyone understands and uses.

With my personal experience around learning disability and autism and my experience of mental ill health in my day job I feel I have a lot to offer this Charity.
