They must comply with the legal requirements set by the Charity Commission and Companies House, while also acting in the best interests of the charity. Trustees are expected to exercise reasonable care and skill in their decision-making, uphold the charity’s accountability, and work to reduce the risk of liability. Overall, their role is to ensure the charity operates legally, ethically, and in a manner that promotes its long-term success.

A senior leader at MAIN acts as a spokesperson and ambassador, promoting the strategic vision of the charity while building strong external relationships to enhance its voice and reputation, as well as that of its benefactors. They ensure robust operational and financial reporting systems to maintain transparency and accountability. Elevating the charity’s brand recognition is a key focus, alongside developing and leading a strong management team.
The senior leader provides overall leadership and guidance, taking responsibility for the charity’s administration and financial management. They work closely with the Board of Trustees to develop long-term strategies and business plans, overseeing the charity’s overall direction to ensure its mission and goals are effectively achieved.
