Activity – Afterschool Club
Children who are autistic, neurodivergent, awaiting diagnosis, have a learning disability and or complex need.
Activity
A relaxed session following school at our centre. Transport is provided for students from Beverley School (Mon-Thurs) and from Priory Woods School (Fri) to our centre in North Ormesby, with drop off’s arranged *availability* dependant. Healthy snacks and juice is provided.
MAIN work closely with our local schools to provide continuity and structure in sessions, utilising the child’s Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and Social Stories provides a clear structure that allows for easy transition from school to session, staff are highly trained and offer individualised and tailored support specific to need, this encourages our children to thrive and feel safe, reducing anxieties and creating a safe space that is filled with activities, fun and play.
MAIN have a quiet space that is available throughout session, as well as a soft play and sensory room separate from the main activity area; there is a generous outdoor play area with climbing frames, forts and water play, MAIN want to create a place where our children develop their social, cognitive and physical skills in a nurturing environment.
Staff set out a structured programme of activities which may include, messy play, water play, arts & crafts, many of our children love building and have lots of LEGO, including giant LEGO and bricks.
